Lost Vegas in Las Vegas

Travelling is one of the things that keeps me sane.
And so does art.
Combining the two makes me very happy.
In November, I went to a place I never thought I'd go to.
And I saw an exhibition that exceeded my expectations.
Lost Vegas, Tim Burton's exhibition at the Neon Museum in Las Vegas,
was an amazing exhibition held in a crazy town!
Nestled amidst the fantastic old signs in the neon 'boneyard'
were Tim Burton's figures from his various movies.
It was so much fun to walk around and find them.
Some signage in the Neon Boneyard
Am I able to post one photo that summarizes Las Vegas?
No. It truly is a layered wonderland.
I wasn't there for the gambling or the drinking and yet there was so much to see and do.
The food was amazing. The shows were very entertaining.
And there were little gems to be found everywhere, like this Art-O-Mat that dispensed little works of art for $5 each. (I bought one!)
Paris Hotel at night!!
A volcano at the Mirage Hotel!
Over-the-top lobbies and atriums!
Delectable desserts!
(This one was from Mon Ami Gabi.)
The Silver Slipper sign that drove Howard Hughes crazy!
Dazzling store displays!
Entertaining shows! ("Absinthe"- I highly recommend this one.)
Cool signage by day or night!
The Strip!
The LOVE art sculpture by Laura Kimpton, at The Venetian.
Nothing is unadorned!
Interesting people! (A quinceanera party!)
The insanity that is Fremont Street!
A piazza at The Venetian!
Over two thousand glass flowers hover over your head at the Bellagio Hotel. This Dale Chihuly glass sculpture, Fiori di Como, is one of his better-known public installations.
I was just walking down the hallway, turned a corner, and there it was.
Stunning.
There are replicas of famous greek sculptures outside Caesar's Palace.
Here I am beside the Winged Victory (or Nike of Samothrace),
one of my all-time favourite sculptures.
The original is in the Louvre (with smaller boobs, I think).
Of course, no ceiling goes unadorned in Vegas.
This is located in the Grand Canal Shoppes in the Venetian Hotel.
Some interior displays at The Wynn are made with real flowers that are
changed out when they die.
A hookah-smoking caterpillar.
Because you really DO go down the Rabbit Hole in Las Vegas!
I took 1,002 photos.
Las Vegas was unforgettable and I am very grateful that my friend Donna went with me.
We had a blast!
I have a new appreciation for Tim Burton's work.
Let's see what artwork is inspired by this trip!
