Flower Dance

I found this very cool pair of pink shoes at a thrift shop. You have to understand that I am not a pink person. But these shoes- they were calling me. I had to buy them. I worked retail in the '80's and knew by the label (Charles Jourdan) that they had been quite expensive shoes in their time. Sadly, by the time I got home from the store, I realized that I was never going to wear these shoes. I garden, I paint, I glue, I walk through salvage yards.....rubber boots or my green high-top Converse are part of my daily uniform. These pink shoes, I thought, still needed to be seen. They needed a second chance.
And now we have "Flower Dance". "Flower Dance" came from the title of the vintage 1910 sheet music in the background. The plastic cherubs are vintage '60's Christmas decorations and, on their own, I have to admit they're quite gaudy. But they work in this vignette.
This shadowbox now makes me think of the other shoes that I have that are absolute beauties- my wedding shoes. They are handmade Peter Fox white silk Edwardian pumps, and they are going to find their way into a shadowbox. Someday.
